چکیده

The differential and total cross sections for the scattering of muonic, pionic, kaonic and antipro-tonic hydrogen in excited states from atomic hydrogen have been calculated for the purpose of atomic cascade calculations. The scattering problem is treated in a fully quantum mechanical framework which takes the energy shifts and, in the case of the hadronic atoms, the widths of the ns states into account. The validity of semiclassical approximations is critically examined. Collisional deexcitation of exotic hydrogen atoms in highly excited states . II . Cascade calculations

The atomic cascades in µ − p and ¯ pp atoms have been studied in detail using new results for the cross-sections of the scattering of highly excited exotic atoms from molecular hydrogen. The cascade calculations have been done with an updated version of the extended standard cascade model that computes the evolution in the kinetic energy from the beginning of the cascade. The resulting X-ray yi...

The Coulomb deexcitation of light exotic atoms in collisions with hydrogen atoms has been studied in the framework of the fully quantum-mechanical close-coupling method for the first time. The calculations of the l-averaged cross sections have been performed for (µp) n and (µd) n atoms in the states with the principal quantum number n = 3 ÷ 8 and relative energies region E = 0.01 ÷ 100 eV. The ...

Collisional deexcitation of exotic hydrogen atoms in highly excited states . I . Cross - sections

The deexcitation of exotic hydrogen atoms in highly excited states in collisions with hydrogen molecules has been studied using the classical-trajectory Monte Carlo method. The Coulomb transitions with large change of principal quantum number n have been found to be the dominant collisional deex-citation mechanism at high n. The molecular structure of the hydrogen target is shown to be essentia...

The Coulomb deexcitation of light exotic atoms in collisions with hydrogen atoms has been studied in framework of quantum-mechanical treatment using the close-coupling method. The detailed calculations of the total cross sections have been performed for the principal quantum number n = 3 − 8 and relative energies region E = 0.01 ÷ 100 eV. The obtained results leads to the new n and E dependence...

Frequency shifts of photoassociative spectra of ultracold metastable Helium atoms : a new measurement of the s-wave scattering length

– We observe light-induced frequency shifts in one-color photoassociative spectra of magnetically trapped He atoms in the metastable 2S1 state. A pair of ultracold spinpolarized 2S1 helium atoms is excited into a molecular bound state in the purely long range 0+u potential connected to the 2 S1−2 P0 asymptote. The shift arises from the optical coupling of the molecular excited bound state with ...
